Special Issue on “Social Networks and Interdisciplinary Approaches”

International Journal of Computational Science and Engineering  (IJCSE)

Social networks have played an important role in various domains for

around a decade, and have been particularly involved in a broad range

of social activities such as user interactions, establishing

friendships and relationships, sharing and recommending resources,

suggesting friends, creating groups and communities, commenting on

friends’ activities and opinions, and so on.

In recent years, rapid progress has been made in the study of social

networks for diverse applications, such as user profiling in Facebook

and group recommendations via Flickr. Today, smart handheld devices

are very popular; many applications were developed for Google Android

platforms and for the iPhone system.

Future research trends will be focussed on combining handheld devices,

social networks, web services and sensors applications.
